30 October 2000 MO-Abstracts Read-Only List `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` FORMER CARROLLTON GIRL IS MARRIED TO CHILLICOTHE MAN, AT HER HOME IN COLORADO Miss Mayme THOMAS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. THOMAS, formerly of Carrollton, was married at her Colorado home last week. The "TRIBUNE", published at Rocky Ford, Colo, has the following to say concerning the ceremony: A quiet wedding was solemnized Thursday afternoon in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. THOMAS on North Eighth Street, when their youngest daughter, Miss Mayme E. [Ethel] THOMAS became the bride of Earl Don THIMPSON, of Chillicothe, MO. Following Lohengrin's Wedding March, which was played promptly at 2 o'clock by Mrs. Charles DARIND, the ceremony was performed by Rev. G.H. STUNTZ, of the Methodist Church. The house was artistically decorated with pink and white roses, carnations, and smilax and the bride, who was attractive in her going away suit, carried a bouquet of Lilies of the Valley and Orchids. The bride, who is a very charming young lady, has only been in Rocky Ford a few months, coming here, with her parents, from Colorado Springs. She formerly resided in Carrollton and it was there the friendship formed which culminated in the wedding. Mr. THOMPSON is the proprietor of Ladies Furnishing Stores in Chillicothe, and is highly respected and esteemed by all who know him. The ceremony was witnessed by the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. THOMAS, and the groom's mother, Mrs. Steka THOMPSON, of Chillicothe, who accompanied her son to this city Monday, Mrs. Geo. SWINK, Mrs. Chas. DARING, Dr. and Mrs. H.S. Van ANTWERP and Miss Lois VAN ANTWERP. Mr. and Mrs. THOMPSON left on No.12 for Kansas City for a few days visit with Mrs. THOMPSON's brother, A.R. THOMAS, after which they will go to the home Mr. THOMPSON has prepared for his bride in Chillicothe. They were accompanied as far as Las Animas by Mr. THOMPSON's mother, where she will visit several weeks.
