Heard an excellent family story this morning. It would have occured in the late 1880s or early 1890s. Olof, the immigrant in Midway, took his young daughter to Duluth and had her vaccinated for small pox. When the blister developed, it was tapped at school and all who would allow it were vaccinated at the school. I never thought to ask which school this was done at. 1 to Duluth, many protected. I suspect many of the children vaccinated at school would also have had their blister tapped to use for relatives. Dee Poff
