    2. Hi -- I was about to bypass this when I remembered that my sister-in-law once asked me to look up relatives on her grandmother's side of the family. One was a James "Jimmy" Raney who had been a state legislator, if I recall correctly. I believe that family line hailed from the Jackson, Mississippi area. AT the time, my poking around on internet sites brought no results. If you run across anything on Jimmy or his kin, I would be very glad to learn of it. Grace, Peace & Thanks -- Ralph S. Carlson

I don't know if this little tid bit will help, but if you find that you have Mc Rainey(sp?) family then you might want to look father in Miss. the actor Gerald Mc Rainey (sp?) is from Miss. He has appeared in "Major Dad" on TV several years back.
