I checked the 1880 census and the only Jane McLean I could find was the daughter of my gr-uncle Lachlin and I know that she married a MacKay. However, it's interesting to note that the only Randall I could find -- no first name -- seemed to be living with some MacKays. I have no idea what that means. Hi Marion - It's Kate McLean who married uncle George. But I wonder if your McLeans and McKays came from Ontario? As far as I know all my Randall's came in 1882/3 after their father died. But I have a Walter Randall who died in 1880, we think, but can't find place of death. Maybe he was the first to venture west. Thank you for answering and happy hunting.
