I recently remembered something that my father taught me to do when say a bottle of Ketchup, or can of Tomatos was empty. He told me to add a little water in the bottle/can to rinse the inside out and then pour it into the food I was making. That way you wouldn't waste any of it. Now, I'm a youn' in of (30 something), but I didn't know if this was something taught during the war years or something he learned from someone else because he was always on a budget.
