To all listers---I am at a point in my family research where I would like to identify a government agency resource that I can communicate with to obtain additional information on my grandfather's history. He resided in Virginia from 1908 to 1914. Hopefully several listers may have had some experience in this area and may give me some direction. On the SSA's SS-5 Form there is a line item that asks for the applicants registration card number if the applicant has registered with the U.S. Employment Service. This number is noted on my grandfather's form. I would like to pursue in this direction if I can locate the current government agency that may have the old USES records. I contacted the SSA and they directed me to to US Dept of Labor. They responded that they do not have these records. Therefore, has anyone had any experience pursuing information from the former US Employment Service? If so, any help or direction would be appreciated. Vince in Plano, TX
