Greetings St. Louis County Researchers -- Browsing for other things in my yet-to-be-organized mass of family memorabilia, I rediscovered the composite photo of the 1899 church choir that my grandfather, John Carlson, directed in Duluth. The church would be predecessor to the present-day First Covenant Church, (I think). The Covenant denomination was variously known as Svenska Missionsforbundet and the Swedish Mission Covenant. The congregation in Duluth, for a while, was affiliated with the Congregational denomination before switching to the developing Swedish Covenant (according to my father's recollection and an old church directory also somewhere in the family trove). I have made a JPG file of the whole array, as well as a JPG file for each of the individual, labeled photos used to make up the composite. Since the original photos used were quite small, resolution is only fair on the scanned photos, but each person's features are recognizable. Following is a text-only list of the names of the folks included in the composite. If you wish to get a copy of the full photo or of any of the individual photos, let me know. Grace & Peace -- Ralph S.
