Immigrated to US in 1887, and I believe naturalized in Minn. He married my gg grandmother Rosa Adams in 1895 in Fayette Co.WV, and had 3 children by the 1900 census. Lidda Anne born in 1895 in WV, Katie M. born in 1898 in Minn., and Charles Buck born in 1899 in WV. I found a message from a Shirley on an article about Nick. Nick wrote an essay in 1936, about the families travels from Germany, to France, to the US. He lists the individual family members, and under John, has him listed as dying in 1929. John and Rosa split up somtime in 1901-2, and we the family assumed he had died at that time. My g grandmother Annie, didnt know what had happened to him. I have since found, he remarried in 1918 to a Scrilda Gibson, and they had 2 children. A girl that died young, and a son-Bernard James Stubbs. John died in 1929/30, Scrilda died in 1970, and Bernard died in 1971. I havent been able as of yet, to find any children for Bernard.
