Hi, My husbands g.grandfather was also John Joseph Salchert born about 1855 in either Germany, Wisconsin or Minnesota. Do you know if your John Joseph had any borthers or cousins that came from Prussia with the family? Also, do you know where your family was in 1880? By all the details I read, they should have been in Minnesota. They are not in the Minnesota census for 1880, tho. Betty
