    1. [MNSTEARN] RE; query of Gretchen Leisen - Joseph HEMMEL
    2. Shirley A. Purnel
    3. Browsing the archive, saw your query of tracking Luxemburger's in Stearns Co., MN. My g-grandfather is Joseph HUMMER, born in Aix sur Cloie, Province of Luxemburg on 7 Sept., 1811. After 2nd marriage of Joseph to Crescentia HUMMER nee KUNKLER in 1859 at St. Michael Parish, Fort Loramie, Shelby Co. OH. & birth of their first child, Andrew in 1861, the HUMMER's relocated to St. Cloud, MN., & Parish of St. Wendelin of Luxemburg, (date & reason & length of residence there - unknown) . Crescentia KUNKLER, is born Glottertal, Baden Prov. in 1828. In St. Cloud, MN., a son, John (Chrysostom) was born/Baptised in Mar., 1866, & my grandmother, Margaret in Dec., 1867. Need the birth/Baptism date of Mary HUMMER, listed as 6 yrs. in 1870 Census yet. Have long puzzled over the surnames in 1865 Stearns Co. Agricultural Census & 1870 Fed. Census as to HEMMEL -LOMMEL - HOMMER entries, as to their being family. Joseph & Crescentia HUMMER relocated back to St. John the Baptist Parish, Maria Stein, Mercer Co., OH. sometime in the 1870's & are deceased there, Joseph in 1891 & Crescentia in 1900. Looking for the death date & location of an older brother, Dominic HUMMER, who died in the 1860's, & may have came to St. Cloud with Joseph, having been widowed twice in the 1850's, Shelby Co., OH. Do you have any further?? Regards, Vincent P. KUNK Palm Desert, Ca. <[email protected]>
