Hello Borgmann researchers, Spent some time at the Duluth Public Library this week going over the 1865 Minnesota Census page by page. It is not indexed other than being alphabetized by County and by Township. It took awhile to find the Ferdinand Borgmann family, though I was rather sure they would have been in Sauk Centre Township by 1865. Finally figured out that they are listed as "Bordman" and with only initials, not first names. They are listed as family #74, with little other information. The census has only eight columns besides name: male, female, colored, deaf, dumb, blind, insane, and Soldiers. The Borgmanns are listed as follows: F. Bordman M A. " F A. " F H. " M A. " F They would be Ferdinand, Antonette (wife), Antonette (dau), Henry, and Amelia. Louise (b. Dec 1859) and George (b. abt 1861), both died of diphtheria in April 1865. The census was taken on 1 June 1865. I can provide an electronic copy of the copy I made if you wish.
