    3. This was on the web site for the Cape Cod Times today. Fred E. Lux, 82 Biologist; WWII veteran; cultivated wildflowers FALMOUTH - Fred E. Lux, 82, died Tuesday at JML Care Center, Falmouth. Mr. Lux was born and raised in Minnesota. After serving in the Pacific theater with the Navy during World War II, he earned degrees in biology and fisheries science from the University of Minnesota. In 1955 he came to Woods Hole to work as a biologist at the National Marine Fisheries Service laboratory. He specialized in studies of the biology and population dynamics of flounders, particularly yellowtail flounder. He retired in 1982. Long interested in native wildflowers, after retirement he spent many years cultivating wildflowers at his Sippewissett home. Survivors include three sisters, Catherine White of Pennsylvania, Joan Hanson of California and Marguerite Winker of Minnesota; and a brother, David of Minnesota. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Millfield Street, Woods Hole. Burial is in Sauk Centre, Minn. Memorial donations may be made to Bell Tower Trust, St. Joseph's Church, P.O. Box 3, Woods Hole, MA 02543.
