So I'd guess they were all related. If you need him, I can look up his marriage. There are two probate records for Metcalfs on the probate index. One is for Rueben who shows up on the children list of W H Sr on the World Tree site. It says the nature of the case is mental illness. And for the William Metcalf record [no Jr or Sr noted] is says "Administration" for "nature of case." Rueben: reg. D, p. 290 file 1790 William: reg I [that's capital eye] p. 593 file 4993 roll 26 document 1878. I don't know what all that means but if you were to try the probate courts for the record you would need it, I suppose. Nancy P.
