On the web site of the Paynesville Area Historical Society there is a transcript of a 1930's interview with William Schmiginsky of Paynesville. William states that he was the son of Julius and Wilhelmina (Frueger) Schmiginsky, born in Germany 4 December 1861. He says he came to the US via New York City in the summer of 1880. His tombstone in the Ebenezer Church Cemetery indicates he died in 1948. The article states that he had two brothers, Ernest and Julius, and two sisters, Amelia Wagner and Johanah Schultz.
