SUICIDE.—Our people were shocked on Wednesday with the news that Mr. Adney Allen, a farmer living about three miles from town, had committed suicide on that morning by hanging himself in his stable. Mr. Allen had always been an early riser, and as usual was up at daylight and went to the stable to attend to his stock. Failing to return to the house at the usual breakfast time, his wife went out to look for him, when she found him hanging in the stable, dead. The stable was quite low, so that there was no place where he could suspend himself, and his knees touched the ground. Mrs. Allen took down the body, which was yet warm, and then went to her father’s house, a half mile distant, to make the sad occurrence known. A messenger was immediately sent in and a telegram sent to the Coroner at St. Cloud. Deceased was about forty years old, and in comfortable circumstances. He was of a peculiar disposition, very easily troubled, but no immediate cause is know! n for the rash act, unless it was the backwardness of the season. He has frequently been heard to say, when something troubled him, that he would hang himself, but no one supposed that he meant anything by it. He leaves a wife and three children.
