Handwritten notes by grandchildren have the village of origin for Anna Grein as Haberge (sp?), Belgium. On census forms, Anna and Michael list Flemish as the mother tongue, if that is any help. I am trying to find ancestors born in Belgium for either or both Anna Grein and Michael Guelff. Family legend has it that the Guelff line was remotely connected to the Hanover line and had some small legacy coming once a will was probated. The will was eventually probated, but WWI and attendant inflation reduced it to pennies.
