    1. Christian Kruger (Kreuger/Krueger)
    2. I am looking for my ggg grandfather. According to the 1880 census, he was living in Paynesville, MN with his wife Sophie, Son Frederick, daughter-in-law Wilhelmina and 2 grand-daughters, Amelia and Augusta (my great grandmother). In 1888, Frederick and Wilhelmina moved to Deuel County, SD with their children. In 1903, Sophie moved to SD and stayed with Fred and MInnie until her death in 1907. It appears Christian died about then, but I can find no further records of him other than the 1880 census. As a side note, I am also looking for the rest of Christian and Sophia's children. Frederick's obit stated he was preceeded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother, Marion Kruger. It also said he was survived by 2 sisters, one in North Dakota and one in Wisconsin. I have been able to locate one sister, Augusta Kruger, married Carl Splinter and settled in the Deuel County area of SD as well. Augusta is one of the sisters that preceeded Frederick, she died in 1922. Frederick died in 1924. Kristi

    3. While going through a cache of Lux family photos that I have recently acquired, there were several that we were unable to identify. They may be Lux, Goerger or Borgmann family members, or they may not be related at all. They have been posted at: http://winker.net/unknown.htm I have also updated the page for Fred T. and Mary Lux with a bit more history on Fred's work as a Minnesota State Representative for Sauk Centre. http://winker.net/lux/fredt/ Tim Winker Email: Timothy @ Winker.net http://www.winker.net - The Winker Family site ****************************************************

I maybe interested or know of someone who is interested in buying the book but it depends on the price. Also, if you could let me know first if the surname of Welle or Pachel is listed in the book. That would be another deciding factor in if the book would be of any use to me. Thanks! Deb

Has a list of burials in Old St. Benedict's Cemetery from 1872-1921, the 1899 census of all persons in Avon age 1-73, original plat map of Avon vilage plus 6 pages of names in the index. Individual county maps are useful for identifying 1874 transportation routes, railroads, canals, streams and rivers, cities, towns and villages, and early Minnesota place names. One-room schools, churches, cemeteries and other cultural features are also included in the county maps. The city and village plat maps in the Minnesota Atlas are often more detailed with many early property owners identified; industrial sites including a variety of stores, factories and mills; State and local government sites: cemeteries, churches, schools, fair grounds, race tracks, asylum & hospitals; and much more. The high resolution digital map data is presented in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). and the Adobe Acrobat Reader is included on each CD. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TJB.2ACI/1526.2 Message Board Post: I was just looking through the " St. Michael's on the Hill" book and it has a picture of the Bernard Athmann family in it. It lists the names of the children and shows a Christ in the back row. In the family history part of the book it lists a Chrysant Athmann, who was the son of Joseph and Catherine(Goeser) Athmann. Would it be possible his nickname was Christ? The only problem is he was born May 24, 1896 and not in 1901.

Near the body of Anton Fralich, which was found a couple weeks ago near the Catholic Church in the town of Albany in this County, was found a note filled with bitter invective against the Roman Church and her Preisthood [sic]. He committed suicide, saying the blame of his death rested with one of the clergy. This is another instance of the insanity of the suicide. A man guilty of self-destruction is blamable for the result of his own folly. A suicide is insane. Transcribed from microfilm copy of newspaper at Minnesota History Center, St. Paul, MN.

Surnames: ALLEN Classification: Death Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TJB.2ACI/1431.2 Message Board Post: The Sauk Centre Herald Sauk Centre, Stearns County, Minnesota Saturday, April 25, 1874 Page 3, column 3. SUICIDE.—Our people were shocked on Wednesday with the news that Mr. Adney Allen, a farmer living about three miles from town, had committed suicide on that morning by hanging himself in his stable. Mr. Allen had always been an early riser, and as usual was up at daylight and went to the stable to attend to his stock. Failing to return to the house at the usual breakfast time, his wife went out to look for him, when she found him hanging in the stable, dead. The stable was quite low, so that there was no place where he could suspend himself, and his knees touched the ground. Mrs. Allen took down the body, which was yet warm, and then went to her father’s house, a half mile distant, to make the sad occurrence known. A messenger was immediately sent in and a telegram sent to the Coroner at St. Cloud. Deceased was about forty years old, and in comfortable circumstances. He was of a peculiar disposition, very easily troubled, but no immediate cause is know! n for the rash act, unless it was the backwardness of the season. He has frequently been heard to say, when something troubled him, that he would hang himself, but no one supposed that he meant anything by it. He leaves a wife and three children. Transcribed from microfilm copy of newspaper at Minnesota History Center, St. Paul, MN.
