His mother's maiden name was Nelson, however, it is possible the father remarried, as Edwin was only four when she died. Just to let you know, I have looked at many death certificates at the MNHS for Edwin Johnson. There are a ton of them! I think I need to find an obituary. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Best regards, Beverly

Mary Jo, Do you already have census information? Do you have any idea at all when Mary Ann was born? Her maiden name? Or is that the point of your query? Do you hope to identify her parents or other ancestors? Or is your objective to perhaps determine her death date and place, and track her children and descendants forward to more recent years?

    2. Tim Winker
    3. In a recently acquired cache of family photos, there are a couple that show a group of people standing in front of the "Julius Adams Cigar Factory No.84G". On the window of the building it reads "Belle of St. Cloud" and "Idela". My grandfather, Fred T. (Ferdinand Theodore) LUX is in one of the photos, and it appears to have been taken about 1906-1907. Where was this factory located, in St. Cloud or in Sauk Centre? Fred T. LUX's biography says he learned the cigar making trade in St. Cloud, but a post card from his future wife, Mary GOERGER, is addressed to "Mr. Fred T. Lux, Sauk Centre, Minn. c/o J. Adams". What information I have on Fred and Mary LUX is posted at: http://winker.net/lux/fredt/ Tim Winker Email: Timothy @ Winker.net http://www.winker.net - The Winker Family site ****************************************************

The books are extremely high quality reproductions (and are correspondingly very expensive) but the CD's are a real bargain in comparison. William Bell Mitchell's 2-volume (1736 pages total) "History of Stearns County, Minnesota" will set you back $189.95 for volume 1 and $239.95 for volume 2 in book form but only $59.95 for both volumes on CD in .pdf form. I have the CD and love the ability to search the whole tome for little details... and you can capture sections of text and paste it into your genealogies too. -- Tom (not affiliated with Brookhaven in any way)
