There were two for William Henry Metcalf Jr. but none for his father. Though Martha was born in Minnesota, it could be that she was in a neighboring county before her marriage to WH Sr. . The only other Metcalf marriage during this time period was for a Thomas married to Iva Kennedy in 1891. I extracted information from the two WH Jr marriages and the death record of WH Sr. If you don't have these I can relay that info also. Nancy Pundsack

Wm. died in 1909. Martha and two children listed 1910 census. Need information on Martha. Thank you for any assistance.

December 9, 1959 Gregor Schwinghammer, 84, retired farmer, died in Albany Tuesday. He was born Oct. 6, 1875 in Albany where he lived all of his life. He was a member of of St. Joseph Society. He was preceded in death by a son and daughter. Surviving are his wife, the former Theresa Pallansch and the following sons and daughters: William, Harold, and Vernon, Albany; Leo, Fort Dodge, IA; Edwin, Waite Park; Mrs. John Kroll (Lorraine), Minneapolis; Mrs. George Farmer (Alma), Bird Island; Mrs. William Pratt (Adelia), Minneapolis; Mrs. Florence Taclet (Viola), Tulsa, Oklahoma. Also surviving are his brothers and sister: Henry Schwinghammer, Albany; John and Mary Schwinghammer in the state of Washington. Friends may call after 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Blenker funeral home in Albany. Funeral services will be at the Church of Seven Dolors, Albany, Friday at 9:30 a.m. St. Joseph Society will pray the rosery Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Blenker funeral home.

He was born in Belgium and came to Melrose about 35 years ago. His sons are Peter Pallansch if Sioux Falls, S.D., Bartal Pallansch of Albany and John Pallansch residing in Wisconsin. ***note: Jacob didn't have sons by these names. I believe the obit should've said "his brothers are". ---------- Der Nordstern St. Cloud, Stearns, Minnesota February 16, 1905, page 5 Tuesday, the 59-year-old Jacob Pallansch, born in Belgium, suddenly died. He had suffered for years from asthma, and passed away before a priest could be summoned. Services will be held on Friday. The death of Mrs. Louise Pallansch occurred at the home of her son, Charles, here Friday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at a result of a heart stroke. She had been in her usual health before that. The funeral was held at the St. Boniface church Monday morning at 9 o'clock. Rev. Father Haupt officiating. Mrs. Barney Lembeck was cross bearer and the active and honorary pall bearers were: John Kuefler, Mrs. H.W. Lembeck, Peter Koll, Mrs. John Primus, Mr. and Mrs. John Thelen, Mr. and Mrs. John Fath, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Moser and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Renneker. Mrs. Pallansch's maiden name was Louise Schneider and she was born in Lafayette, Ind., August 25, 1855, being 81 years and 10 months old at her death. Her parents located at Pearl Lake, Stearns County, when she was a child. She married Jacob Pallansch there on May 17, 1880, and about 10 years later they came to Melrose. Mr. Pallansch died on Feb. 14, 1905. Four children survive: Mrs. B.R. Mohler of Minneapolis, Henry Pallansch of St. Cloud, Mrs. Gregor Schwinghammer of Albany, and Charles Pallansch of Melrose. There are 28 grand children and one great grand child. Brothers and sisters surviving are Chas. Schneider and Mrs. P.P.Molitor of St. Cloud, Herman Schneider of Pearl Lake and Mrs. Margaret Strauss of Eden Valley. From the same newspaper: Card of Thanks We wish to extend our sincere thanks to neighbors and friends for the many acts of kindness and condolence shown us at the death of our beloved mother, Mrs. Louise Pallansch. Adams obit. states he was born June 8, 1856 at St. Cloud, being the first boy to be born at that place. He died June 3, 1935 in Paynesville. His obit also states He spent his entire life in Steans cty, In his early life he lived on a farm near Roscoe, but lived in Paynesville for 30 years after he retired. He was married to Jennie Baitinger on 6/4/1878. There is no mention of his parents, however I know they came from Wurtenburg, Germany. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    3. This was on the web site for the Cape Cod Times today. Fred E. Lux, 82 Biologist; WWII veteran; cultivated wildflowers FALMOUTH - Fred E. Lux, 82, died Tuesday at JML Care Center, Falmouth. Mr. Lux was born and raised in Minnesota. After serving in the Pacific theater with the Navy during World War II, he earned degrees in biology and fisheries science from the University of Minnesota. In 1955 he came to Woods Hole to work as a biologist at the National Marine Fisheries Service laboratory. He specialized in studies of the biology and population dynamics of flounders, particularly yellowtail flounder. He retired in 1982. Long interested in native wildflowers, after retirement he spent many years cultivating wildflowers at his Sippewissett home. Survivors include three sisters, Catherine White of Pennsylvania, Joan Hanson of California and Marguerite Winker of Minnesota; and a brother, David of Minnesota. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Millfield Street, Woods Hole. Burial is in Sauk Centre, Minn. Memorial donations may be made to Bell Tower Trust, St. Joseph's Church, P.O. Box 3, Woods Hole, MA 02543.     3. Ferdinand Edward Lux (better known as Fred or Bud), 82, passed away yesterday in Massachusetts, following a battle with cancer. He was the son of Ferdinand Theodore (Fred T.) and Mary Catherine [Goerger] Lux, born 6 Sep 1922 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. He spent all of his working life as a marine biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Though he never married, he shared many happy hours (days, years) with long-time friend Jane McLaughlin. A complete obituary and details on a Memorial Service will be provided soon. Paul was brother to my great-grandfather Peter Kuklok. Both were born in Falkowitz, Poland to Jacob Kuklok and Susanna (Laxy) Kuklok. Paul and Peter immigrated to US at different times, with Paul living in the St. Wendelin area, and Peter in the Opole/ Holdingford area. (They are 11 years apart in age) Evelyn (Kuklok) Neis is my father's first cousin; her parents were Isadore Kuklok and Katie (Schneider) Kuklok--Isadore's parents were Peter Kuklok and Joahnna (Zwak) Kuklok--my gg-parents. I don't believe I have met Evelyn, but have spoken a number of times to her sister Marie Peternell in St. Stephen. I know that Evelyn is the youngest, and many of her siblings are now gone. Yes, we are connected--at least through the Kukok's! Thanks for the information! If I have more questions, could I contact you?
