    3. Posted on: Stearns County Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mn/Stearns/11388 Surname: Theisen, Warren ------------------------- I'm trying to find out more about Bernard Theisen and wife Alice Warren, of Stearns County. They had at least one son, he being born in 1934 in Cold Spring. My best guess (and it's only a guess) is that Bernard was born ~1895-1915 and Alice ~1905-1915. I've searched (the obvious parts of) the 1900 and 1910 census records without finding them, so I suspect both may have been born after 1910. If you have a clue as to which lines they belong in, I would appreciate knowing it.

    3. Posted on: Stearns County Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mn/Stearns/11386 Surname: Bach ------------------------- Dear Ken, The information I have is from a book on the Heiders and Keppers family history. This is all the information I have on my great-great grandparents Bernard Bach and Lucy Keppers Bach. The book doesn't give Bernard's date of birth or death. But in the index of the book it states that Bernards father is Nicholas Bach. Further, in the text of the book it states that Lucy Keppers was 18 year when she married Bernard on November 27, 1862 in St. Joseph. The had 5 children; Nothburga, b.1864, died young; Othilia Elizabeth, b.1866; my greatgrandmother Gertrude, b.1868,d.1956; Agnes, b. 1870; and Margaret, no birthdate given. It goes on to tell that Lucy Keppers Bach, having lost her husband, Bernard, was married to Francis Xavier Dolderer at Avon, Minnesota on November 23, 1881. Francis and Lucy went onto have 3 daughters. I'm not sure if this is any help to you, I also am in search of more information on Bernard Bach. Janet Becker

    3. Posted on: Stearns County Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mn/Stearns/11383 Surname: BACH, KOCH, KEPPERS ------------------------- Janet, Thank you so much for responding to my posting. I had just last night come to the realization that probably Gertrude was the daughter of Bernard Bach. Now your e-mail confirms it. In looking at homestead records, I found Bernard Bach's property in the same section as my Gottlieb KOCH's, and the Nicholas BACH had property just west of the same section (NENW & NWNW section 25, twp. 126N-33W). Bernard got his in 1 Apr 1873, while Nicholas was already at his in 1865 (Sept. 15); the latter had been in Stearns Cty. at least since 1861 however. It would appear that Gertrude being the niece of my Gottlieb would most likely be through the BACH line (since Bernard's wife was definitely from Prussia). But the only way would seem to be if Bernard had married previously before his marriage to your Lucy Keppers. Do you have ages on Bernard or any information? Thanks for any help here. Ken Neumann

    3. Posted on: Stearns County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mn/Stearns/11378 Surname: MICHELS ------------------------- Josef, The place of Uniontown, WA, caught my eye in your MICHELS discussion. They moved there ca 1890. I think there were several families who moved out that way who at one time or another were from Stearns County. My SCHWIEP & MORBECK families (nee TENBREUL) went there in the early 1900s and the oldest in the families and some younger ones died there. A good source is the film of the cemetery listings for St. Boniface Cem. (2 volumes). This is available thru the LDS Fam. Hist. Ctr. film or published thru the Whitman County Genealogical Soc. I wrote them and got the same information. You could verify your MICHELS information that way. Hope this helps. Ken Neumann

Anna Christina Neis Michels (photo extant) had two sisters: Anna Margaretha (married Philipp Bold, Jr. residents of Cold Spring, MN) and Maria Elisabetha (married to Hubert Zirbes, last residence San Diego CA).
