I was excited to hear that I actually had a connection. I have been looking for quite awhile for someone. I would be happy to share with you anything I have. I have been somewhat stuck and am hoping with someone else we can get further back. Keep in touch! Carol
I know we are on the same tree. My spouse is from the George Longden line who was born on the ship. I never looked in Minnesota for them but will now that I know they were there. Wish I had known when I was in minneapolis in May at the archives. Mary Ellen was our grandmother. So glad to find you and you know where they came from in England. Jean
After sorting through my information I think this is the Peter UTSCH you are searching for. This is what I have: Peter UTSCH (born abt.1824 in Prussia) married Justina ? (born abt.1827 in Prussia). Together with their eldest daughter Rosena, they came from Sassenroth? near Herdorf, Prussia, aboard a ship called the H. von Gogern? abt. 1852 or 1853, and settled in Missouri. They would move to Stearns County, Minnesota sometime before 1860. They had the following children: Rosena UTSCH (born abt.1851 in Prussia) married George GEISSEL; Joseph UTSCH (born abt.1855 in Missouri); Gustav UTSCH (born abt.1859 in Minnesota); Theresia UTSCH (born abt.1861,Minn.); Mary UTSCH (born abt.1863,Minn.) and *Hermann UTSCH (born abt.1868, Minn.). I located Peter, Justina & family on the 1860 Minnesota Census and on the 1870 Minn. Census he appears to be remarried to a Maria A.? Also on the 1870 Census, listed on the farm above Peter's was a Balthasar RAUSCH age:42, Anna M. RAUSCH age:36, an! d an Othilia RAUSCH age:4, Peter's other neighbor was his daughter Rosena (UTSCH) GEISSEL and her new family. I hope this is of some help to you.
I am searching for any information on Charles Damp and his family. Charles was the son of John (Phillip) Damp. John was my great-great Grandfather. I have few leads on Charles and just found out his was married to a Myra and died in 1927. Any help with is would be greatly appreciated, Dianne
I believe I may have some information regarding Peter and Justina Utsch. They emigrated from Prussia about 1852, first to Missouri then on to Stearns County, Minnesota. Together they had 6 children, the third one was named Gustav Utsch born about 1859 in Minnesota. Peter Utsch is my daughter's GGGG-Grandfather. Could this be the one you're looking for? Please let me know.
Darrell, thanks so very much for posting this link. John MEYER, Sr. had a daughter -- Elizabeth -- who married Joseph LANG. I have the "Lang Family History" at my website. However, there is some information in Steven Condon's descendancy chart that I will have to incorporate into my "Lang Family History." Thanks for posting all your hard work, Steven. I would like to hear from you. Also, I am still researching the John MEYER family, and need to document some of his children using 1870 and 1880 Stearns County, Minnesota, Federal Census records. Darlene I found your query on Leo McCormick and tried to e-mail you but it came back. My mom's uncle Leo, the son of Ellen [McInerney] and Owen McCormick, was born in 1902. They lived in Chicago but Leo moved to NJ at one time to live with his sister. We lost track of him but we understood he had twin daughters, Viola and Violet. Would love to make contact with you. Attached is a GED.Com file that starts with my grandmother, Anna Heinen. Let me know if you have anyone more than this. Hope this helps.
Bev -- I want to add a bit more information to my previous reply: >The answer is no to both questions. > >Wright county and the southern part of Stearns county were both in something called >Dahkotah County when Minnesota was a territory. > >Howard Lake is about 20 miles south of Stearns County's southeastern corner. Both Stearns and Wright were also part of Cass County from 1851 to 1855 and administered from Benton County. I have not found much on Louis Imholte of New Orleans. He was a New Orleans volunteer in 1861 and was a cigar vender in New Orleans in 1880. I haven't linked him to Frederick-Fredricka Imholte Family.
Jan, I hope you don't mind if I come in. I missed the first part of this thread. Do you know who the parents of Jacob Carl Muller were? I have Anna Catherine Hentges also marrying John Manders in 1857. Does this make sense? Do you have children for Anna? The Hentges I'm working on are descended from Nicholas, a brother of Anna. I also have John Peter Pick, Lucia Pick and Francis Pick(Pik) on my line. I am looking for more information on these along with the Heinen family from Stearns County. I live in Camas Washington
Ron The surnames you have listed are the same as my ancesters. My dad is the son of John Heinen born 3/31/1884 and ran a dairy farm in Spring Hill Minnesota. I don't have a lot of information other than names which go back Peter's parents ( Paul and Margaret Schuh). Ralph
I have information on the ancestry of Veronica Herberger who married William Streitz if you'd like to share and compare data. Do you have any info on their children or further descendants? Please e-mail me directly at: [email protected] Thanks and take care, Stephanie Sampson
Hi, Am looking for information/family starting from my GG-Grandpa Henry William Scherfenberg (b. 1832 Germany, d. 1895 St. Cloud) and his wife Angeline M. Evers (b.1837, d. 1915 St. Cloud). Their Children were: Henry William Scherfenberg (my Great Grandpa b. 1864, d. 1947 both in St. Cloud), Fredrick C. Scherfenberg, George E. Scherfenberg, Carrie L. Scherfenberg (b. 1883) and Albert F. Scherfenberg. Great Grandpa Harry Scherfenberg married Emma Caroline Knickerbacker also of St. Cloud. They had one daughter Reva Knickerbacker Scherfenberg (b. 1895, d. 1969) who married George Marshall Stickles, Sr. (b. 1892, d. 1982). Grandma and Grandpa Stickles had 8 children all born in Red Wing, MN. Would love to find relatives of all the other Scherfenbergs to fill in my family tree.
Hello! Thanks for your post. We are in the process of moving back to Ohio, and I do not have access to all ancestry records. I can tell you from memory that my great,great-grandfather was Peter Hoffman and his wife, Catherine Rausch. They had about 8 children in Stearns County. My grandmother, who just passed away, said they came from Al Sase Loraine, France. This is the area that is now, Luxemborg. Now that I am back in Cleveland, my husband and I hope to do more research. Please share with me your Rausch line and anything you know about their background.
I'm hoping to find someone who could check birth records for Fairhaven, Minnesota. I believe my grandmothers nephew was actually born there April 1897. His mothers name was Rosina B. CHANEY and his name was Daniel Herbert. I have found him listed as CHANEY on the 1900 census and then as WIGGINS there after. WIGGINS was his stepfathers last name and is the name he is buried under here in Missouri. The family rumors are that his mother and biological father were never married and the biological fathers last name was actually FULLER. I will definitely appreciate any help someone may be able to give me. Thanks, Janet Hankins Gladstone, MO 64119
