I am a descendant of Sylvester John Wengeler. Do you live in Orange County? If so, e-mail me and we can swap numbers.
Jennifer..you can contact her at [email protected] She would love to correspond.
Our moeding lines are in South Dakota (Huron) and Davenport,Iowa. Is her orgin from either of these two places? The reason I ask is because our family came from Russia and Austria to the Dakota Territory. I have this information if she or you would be interested.
My sister-in-law is a Moeding from Manson, Iowa
Hello, Diane! Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner but i moved and set up a new e-mail account. You posted you were related to the Moedings? Please, contact me.
I am wondering if anyone has connections to the Molitor families in St. Cloud. My g-g-grandmother's obituary listed her sister as Mrs. P. P. Molitor of St. Cloud. I see an entry on my Index to Gravestones of Stearns Co. for Peter P. Molitor (1875-1956) at Calvary Cemetery with the "fa" misc. (stone is marked father I'm guessing). Mrs. P.P. Molitor was originally a Schneider. I would love to hear from anyone with connections to this family or otherwise. Thanks! Laura Schroeder Researching: Schneider, Pallansch, Schwinghammer, Pfau
Sorry I can't help out on that one. Our Schlicht - Lang connection was back ca late 1700's time and that was in Bavaria north of Munich. Martin Schlicht d. 8 Aug. 1820 and wife Maria Anna Schlicht geb. Lang died in April 1843. If you tried a direct contact, the spelling of name was messed up and I have also acquired an additional e-mail address. I have no further info on Lang with this family . I have Lange on another connection.
I checked my records and the only connection we might have is if the line you have is a sibling to Matthias Schlicht b. 27 Nov. 1802 zu Notzendorf, parish of Sandelshausen. d. 20 March 1857. He was s/o Martin Schlicht d. 8 March 1820 and Maria Anna Lang d. ?? April 1843. I have 2 marriages for Matthias and have names of both wives and all children. My husband descends from The youngest son of 2nd marriage. Adam Schlicht 1853 - 1939 Sorry for the mess up in address. I haven't checked this site so didn't realize You tried to get in touch. try again. use the worldnet address for speed. It's on a faster computer.
My name was misspelled in previous entry it should read in old and still usable address: [email protected] and new one (faster) [email protected] , sorry for problem try again.
Searching for any and all information about the John and Sophia Bautch family. John & Sophia both died in the early 1920's. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Dianne
Hi Darrell, Yes, I have at least read some of the Salchert Spring Hill history, but what I am interested in, is his siblings. You say he had 5 brothers & sisters? I am thinking one of his brothers had a boy named John Joseph born in 1855, which would be our ancestor. Do you know if they came to the US as well? Betty
In the book, St. Michael's on the Hill, by S. Mary Gordian Miller, OSB, there are three pages devoted to John Joseph Salchert (b. 1829 or 1831). He and his wife Catherine Goeser had 5 kids, Catherine (b. 1856), John (b. 1857), Gertrude (b. 1859), Mary (b. 1861) and Joseph (b. 1863). The son, John, was born in Wisconsin. The siblings -- Catherine married a Vitus Gottwald; Mary married John Jacob Mueller; and Joseph married Mary Pung. The book goes into further detail about these marriages as well as some addtional biographical information about them and their parents. The Salcherts are from the Muehlenbach, Trier, Rheinland area of Germany. The book also tells that the elder John Joseph (b. 1829 or 1831) was in Fond du lac County and that he had 5 other siblings. You may want to see or get this book if you have strong Spring Hill ties or want to see this information more in depth.
Hi, My husbands g.grandfather was also John Joseph Salchert born about 1855 in either Germany, Wisconsin or Minnesota. Do you know if your John Joseph had any borthers or cousins that came from Prussia with the family? Also, do you know where your family was in 1880? By all the details I read, they should have been in Minnesota. They are not in the Minnesota census for 1880, tho. Betty
am looking for family of Ruth Bartell of CA, daughter of Florence ? sister to Nora Baker Paige, my grandmother.

Gretchen, I am interested in the Klemmer surname that immigrated from Luxembourg to Stearns County. I have a tie from Fayette County, Iowa to Stearns County with the Klemmer surname and want to explore possible Klemmer relatives living in the area. I wonder if you have any data on the Stearns County Klemmers that you would be willing to share? or could you point me in the direction of how to obtain the information? Many thanks Catherine
Gretchen, This is a little far-fetched but I am researching a Klemmer family from Luxembourg and while most of the family settled in Fayette County Iowa, one son,Joseph Klemmer, went to Stearns County around 1912 ish. He married his first wife Gertrude Frieler from New Munich before moving east to Michigan. I always wondered if there was a Klemmer relative in Stearns County and I wonder if there is any mention with your Klemmers of relatives from Iowa (originally from Luxembourg). Joseph's father, Peter, emigrated from Lux. in 1889. He went back in 1900 to Lux. and brought back a Magdelena Klemmer aged 19. I have been unsuccessful in tracing what happened to her. I know this is far-fetched but I thought I would try. There were too many coincidences. Catherine
It's great when you get a hit/ Have not had one for quite sometime.Send your e-mail address as I'm ready to change mine and don't want to miss out now. Thanks. Jean
