My mother died about a yr and a half ago and just didn't have the heart for it for quite awhile. I don't think that we are from the same line but would be interested to know if there is a Georg and Catherine from the Wurttemburg Germany area anywhere in your family. Thanks for checking for me Sincerely Trudy

I lost track of this posting and the board notification failed. Today when another person added to the thread it notified me and I saw your posting. Since I posted that message in 1999 I have (I think) pushed back the Koll's another 2 generations (Lorenz and Matthias) and the Bold line 5 generations (Jean Phillippe, Jean Phillippe Sr, Johann Peter, Peter Johann and Christian Johann). I would welcome sharing information with you and seeing if I have followed the right trail. Thank you for your message Dwyne Rhodes Patrick [email protected]

I am looking for data on Edward Dreblow (b. 1842 Germany) married to Amalia or Ameline Baker; they are on the 1870 census for Stearns County. Rolene Kiesling, Groveland, CA

Whenever they would talk about Eva, my great-grandmother, they would shake their heads because of the severity of her depression. From what I've been told, she was really badly off and needed to be institutionalized. I've also heard stories about other relatives but they don't quite match up with the names...so I might be getting them confused with my paternal grandparent's side of the family instead of my maternal. "Great Uncle Johnny": Was in the merchant marines, fought in WWI, decorated. Shot and killed by a cop in the Great Depression when he was reduced to stealing hubcaps for food. "Great Aunt Kaddy" (this is Catherine): She was always traveling the world and bringing back souvenirs. "Great Uncle Gus": Gus was short for "August". I always assumed this was a brother of my grandmother's. He lived on a farm in Indiana. Unless this is Aloysius? Anyway, I know other relatives lived on this farm, too. My father's cousin, Jackie Spacy, who recently passed, was the adopted daughter of one of the Danzl children's families. The mother hung herself in the barn due to depression, and little Jackie found her. From then on, she was in and out of institutions herself, even though not blood related. Sorry this is so vague; I guess I could ask my father about it since he would know. I was just told all these stories when I was growing up. "Great Aunt Bertha". Lived to be 102. But was rather senile when she passed. I met a relative of my grandmother's by the name of "Nazi" after meeting Adeline and Pete in Melrose, MN in 1986. I don't know how I was related to him. He was 96 at the time, and full of energy. I'm sorry, I don't know anything about Michael Lietz's brothers or parents. Or about Adolph or Joseph. Do you know if Ferdinand Danzl was the son of Ferdinand and Catharine (Ebnet) Danzl? jv

I haven't personally researched the Verkennes family because my interest is in my great uncles Jacob Immel and Peter Immel. They married Anna V. and Mathilda V., respectively, in Stearns Co. Mary Vanzwoll is a descendant of Peter Immel and has researched his family. As of the 1880 census, Jacob Immel and wife were in Stearns and had two children, names unknown.

They had one child age 7/12, named Mary Bach. Mary was born 21 Dec. 1869. They had at least 2 more children registered in Stearns County: Margretha Bach, b. 3 Aug. 1871; Catharina, b. 14 Nov. 1873. The three little girls were baptised at St. Wendelin Parish in Luxemburg, MN. Back to the Brosemers: children were: Margaretha, born about 1864; died 23 Sept. 1874 at Luxemburg, MN William, b. 29 Dec. 1868 at Lux'g, MN & died 14 Oct. 1874 at Lux'g, MN. The Brosemer children's baptisms and burials are from the St. Wendelin parish records. I also found a Maria Bauer, nee Brosemer, in the 1870 census in Brockway Twsp. She died 7 Nov. 1875 and was buried at St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, St. Joseph, MN. The 1870 census said she was born in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, in about 1830.
