I am sure she will write back soon. She even has pictures! Too cool. The Albany history book is called: Albany, The Heart of Minnesota Published by Albany Heritage Society. Last I heard, they were almost out of these books and were not going to reprint them. If you would like, write to me personally and I will try to copy the Moonen info. Take care and keep in touch, Karen

Surnames: Hammes, Berres Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TJB.2ACI/992.1 Message Board Post: Richard, my wife is a descendent of the Lakeville Berres'. We currently live in Lakeville, MN and I'm trying to trace more of our genealogy so our kids have something to look back on. Our connection is with Jacob's sister Elizabeth... who married Mathias Berres. My info shows Elizabeth was born in Gillenfeld Germany on Oct 16, 1834, and died Aug 1, 1901. She is buried in Lakeville. Although I haven't looked for a gravesite yet. My info has Elizabeth with an older sister Catherine b. Dec 2, 1826 and an brother Jacob. I have NO dates for Jacob... nor do I have any other information on him (marriages, children, etc.)Their parents John Hammes and Elizabeth Wallenborn I have birth and death dates for each of them and no information any further back than that. (Also keep in mind, I have no personally verified sources for any of this--I inherited the information in these computer files when my father-in-law died and when my wife's uncle died. No real paper trail or any copie! s or scans of official documents.) If you have any more information that you could provide for me...ie, GEDCOM file and any scans of pictures or documents I'd LOVE to expand my tree along those lines. Also, where are you located. If I can get any pictures of grave sites or documents found here in Lakeville, MN, I'd be happy to get them for you and e-mail the attachments or mail copies to you. By the way, my info also tells me that Mathias and Elizabeth (Hammes) Berres had 13 children... two of whom were named Mathias. Their youngest, the second Mathias was my wife's great-grandfather. It's so wonderful to run into someone with a connection to the family and possibly some information to help flesh out and source some of my genealogy file. Please respond by e-mail if you don't mind. It would proabably be impossible for me to find you on the web again. Our e-mail address is [email protected]
