Holly: My research on the SCHACKMAN(N) family goes back to Mathias Schackmann, who was born in 1816. He married Katherina Tinnes in Ferschweiler, Ger. (Ferschweiler is near the Luxembourg border.) He died and Katherina Tinnes Schackmann emigrated from Ferschwiler to Stearns County in 1865 with her 5 children: Katharina b. 1841 (m. Schreifels), Marie b. 1843, Michael b. 1845 (m. Stockmer), John b. 1849, and Margaretha b. 1852. Maybe Mathias and Josephine were related? Karen Langer
