Minnesota's population has a high percentage of Scandinavians -- lots of Nelsons and Andersons. There is no doubt someone who would be going to the Minnesota Historical Society and would be willing to make photocopies of those death certificates and mail them to you (probably would need more information than given above).
This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: John Nelson and Louis Anderson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TJB.2ACI/1598 Message Board Post: John Martin Nelson may have been born in Glennwood, Pope Co., MN or in Stearns Co. in 1882-1883. As the story goes he had a brother and when John was 7 [ca.1892] their parents were killed they were sent to live with separate families. John was sent to Otter Tail Co. where he lived with the Ole Tessum family. His brother Louis [b. 1886] went to live with another family and may have taken the name of his adopted family. He was known as Louis Anderson. Where would one find an obituary and or etc. realting to the deaths of these fellows parents in Pope or Stearns Co.'s in 1892-1893?
Linda, the people that I mentioned were children of Mari Schaeffer and John Allen.... I am trying to find out their children. Gladyce
I am new to the list.... I have some relatives that have lived in Sauk Centre, Mn. I will give you some of their names: Alice May Allen, Benjamin Harrieson Allen,Kate Hannah Allen (who married) Edwin Burrow, Howard Isacc Allen, and Harry Fredric Allen. Now these are probably all deceased, but I would thinnk there should be some of their children still there. Thanks, Gladyce Johnson from Mn.
Good Morning, Was wondering if anyone has any information, or could help me on a problem that I have regarding the O'CONNOR and FLYNN families. Mary O'CONNOR b. Oct. 18, 1891 in Minnesota, d. Aug. 9, 1970 in Franklin Park, Cook County, Illinois, buried St. Patricks Cemetery, Melrose, Stearns County, Minnesota. MARRIED TO: Fergus Michael FLYNN b. Jan. 31, 1890 in North Platte, Lincoln Co., Nebraska, d. Feb. 6, 1973 in Franklin Park, Cook County, Illinois, buried St. Patricks Cemetery, Melrose, Stearns County, Minnesota. Mary & Fergus adopted two boys, Richard (b. 1912) and James (b. 1915) FEENEY. Both boys were born in North Dakota and orphaned before 1930. Mother was listed in the 1920 census in Devil's Lake, Ramsey County, she was shown as a widow. These boys were the children of Mary's sister, Anna O'CONNOR b. about 1890 and Unkown FEENEY b. Ireland. Censuses on both the O'Connor girls state that their father was born in Ireland and the mother in Canada. Since both Mary and Fergus are buried in Stearn County Minnesota I would rather assume that possibly the O'CONNOR family might have been buried there also. Fergus and Mary had lived in Franklin Park, Cook County, Illinois since the time of their marriage in 1918 until their deaths. So, my question is.....Is the St. Patricks Cemetery in Melrose on line or is there someone who knows who I might contact to find out the information on the O'CONNOR family. Would gladly pay for someone to research the information and get pictures of the headstones that might be involved. Hunting for Flynn's, O'Connor's and Feeney's is interesting and frustrating! Luckily I have lots of information on the Flynn Family (grin). Thanks for any help or leads that anyone might give me. Gretchen FLYNN
Hi. I am looking for information on Daniel Flynn. I have no information on him except that he married Frances Hannasch. They had no children. Frances was born about 1885. That is all the information I can find on this family. Does any one have any more information? Just me. Mary B farmlady@wah.midco.net

One was born 1 Feb 1875 in Damme parish, Oldenburg to Johann Friedrich Wöbkenberg and Maria Bernardine Lüdmars. Both of the parents died in Minnesota but I don't have any more info on Elizabeth. The other one was born 23 Feb 1872 to Heinrich Hermann Wöbkenberg and Maria Clara Sophia Böhning. Those parents also died in Minnesota. I mention these because I have found that immigrants often didn't know, or their descendants didn't know, their real date of birth. Her death certificate should give her parents names, if her descendants knew them, even though that info hasn't been indexed on the above mentioned database. I'm sure that Lis and Andy will answer you with whatever info you need. However, I am also interested in adding to her file if she is related to my Wobkenbergs, as she must be. I also have a Denne on my tree, married to a Pundsack. Do you have that one? Nancy Pundsack

Yes, I have worked with the Stearns History Museum; I was very pleased. Good luck, Bonnie.
