    3. Hi from Texas, According to the book, A History of St Brendan's Parish, the Village of Green Isle, and Minnesota's First Irish Settlement by Father John Gerald Berger, the following Bertrang info is given on page 129. No settlement (i.e. in Green Isle) occurred until 1857. Among the earlier ones of that year we mention John McGrann, Patrick O'Mara, Patrick Dwyer, Bernard Gray, Patrick Carroll, Thomas Shoertell, and Mathias Bertrang, who began the German settlement in the southwest. He came in May, and located partly in each of sections 28 and 29; he put up a blacksmith shop soon after and had one also in Arlington. He moved to Henderson in 1866, where he now lives (i.e. as of 1883). Hope this is of some use to you. Per the MNHS death index I believe Katie to have married a Bovy and Elizabeth to have married Martin Johengen. > > Any help on fitting Mary into the Bertrang family appreciated. > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
