I've "rescued" a beautiful old photograph belonging to the APITZ Family which was taken at the Simmer Studio in Henderson, Minnesota. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with group including parents and 6 children. The parents appear to be in their 50's or 60's at the time and the children all likely in their teens to 30's at the time. Names on the back of the photograph indicate that the parents are William & Carolina APITZ and that the six children in the photograph are, William, Matilda, Louisa, Amelia, Herman, and Augusta "Gussie" APITZ. Someone also notes on the back of the photograph that they are "Grandma FITZNER's Family". Based on limited research I was able to locate information regarding this family. I find birth information for Louisa APITZ b. 8 Feb 1884 in Sharon, MN to parents William APITZ and Caroline SCHULTZ. Louisa married Albert J. WIGAND and died 14 Apr 1973 in Henderson, MN and is buried there. Her brother William APITZ was b. 27 Sept 1889 and died June 1963 in MN.
