Mn Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Mn/Sibley/22 Surname: ------------------------- There are a bunch of Sibley County Bremers listed on the Sibly County grave site: http://www.genealogy.history.sibley.mn.us/fulllist.php3 my guess is these are cousins. The ones that went to Trinity Lutheran Church may have church records, too, which are waiting to be transcribed. Then there were two Bremer girls -- Pauline and Caroline, who married two Delger boys and ended up in Spencer, South Dakota about 1890.

Posted on: Sibley Co. Mn Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Mn/Sibley/16 Surname: ------------------------- I suggest you check out the index of Sibley County gravestones at www.genealogy.history.sibley.mn.us (click on the Grave Finder button at the top of the page.) You might also want to look around on that site for hints on how to do your research. I remember typing in some Bondersons or Bondesons in the Norwegian Grove Cemetery. I hope to get the Winthrop cemetery recorded in the spring, so check back in May. Winthrop had so many Lundholms and Lindquists and similar names that I can't really remember them all off the top of my head. I assume you have checked with the county courthouse in Gaylord for the public records? Many Swedes in the Winthrop area went to church in Bernadotte until they were able to establish churches in town. In fact, I often tell people who cannot find the records for their Winthrop-area Swedes to check the Nicollet County records, because there was a lot of wandering across the county line.
Diane, I am not sure where exactly they were located. I have an Emilie or Amelia Winter who was married in Sibley County (Eickschen Church, New Auburn Twp on Dec 14, 1894) She was supposed to have been a McLeod County resident as was here husband, Robert Ortloff. A Gottlieb Ortloff was a witness. On Emelie Winter Ortloff's death certificate her father was listed as August Winter. Emelie was born in Germany Mar 7, 1870. Arlington has figured in my Ortloff research so I would love to know whatever you do about Arlington Winters.
