He immigrated to the US in 1897 from Støle, Tysnes, Norway. He was married to a Magda Rustad. Others who lived in Rock county prior to 1911: Ole Johnson (Nel's brother), also in Luverne arrived in 1909. George (or Gregorius) Johnson arrived in 1900. I think he also went by the last name Storli. John Johnson arrived in 1902. Also looking for information on last name: Sathre (possibly Sam and Nels as first names). And last name: Lillehei Thanks.
