I have accessed the church book records (Chisago Lake Lutheran, Center City) which states that one of my ancestors died at the state hospital in St. Peter, MN, ca. 1889-90. Do any of our Listers know if MHS may have health or death records for patients of this hospital, for this time period? Any other ideas of if or where such records may exist? My question is generic at present, since details of the church book death entry are not at hand. (I've recently moved.) However, I can tell you this much about the person in question: Name: Anna (Adamsdotter) Andersson (or Anderson) Birthdate: 08 June 1825 Birthplace: Warshult Söregård, Sold.torp nr 19, Åseda, SWEDEN Anna was the widow of: Johan Andersson/Anderson; Chisago Co., MN) b. 17 Aug 1828 - Botillaboda, Älghult, Kronobergs Län, SWEDEN d. 23 Feb 1889 - Chisago Co., MN I'm a recently "transplanted" Minnesotan, now living in NW Arkansas; but I plan to be in St. Paul in July and hope to visit MHS then. I'm interested in this question/answer also. I have an ancestor who was at St. Peter State Hospital prior to 1970, and was told by multiple hospital personnel that the records from that time period and before have been destroyed.
