Hi Jim, Thank you so much for the reply. From my notes, (taken from obits, marriage registration, cemetery stone, distant relative recollections, and census info), I have the following: 1860 born Ontario Canada (father was station master on railroad, all 3 sons became involved in the railroad) 1886 Immigrated to US, unknown where Sep 1888 married St. Thomas, Ontario (confirmed) (residence after marriage to be: St. Cloud, Minnesota) (wife's family also with railroad in St. Thomas, Ontario) James residence at marriage was St. Cloud, Minnesota Louise's residence at marriage was St. Thomas, Ontario 1888 Louise immigrated to US 1890 daughter Margaret Russell born Minnesota 1890 1892 daughter Hughina Rose Russell born & died, unknown where, but buried in Ontario, confirmed. Nov 1904 Superintendent of the Missouri Pacific Railway (with headquarters at Atchison, Kansas) (not known if this means he lived in Missouri or Kansas)(per father's obit) Dec 1908 Brookfield, Missouri (per mother's obit) 1910 Census Portland, Mulnomah, Oregon (wife wife Louise, and confirmed daughter Margaret, all info matches) "Superintendent of Railroad" 1930 census St. Paul, Ramsey County, MN (with wife Louise A.) Sept 1931 General Superintendent of the Union Depot in St. Paul, MN (per sister's obit) 30 Nov 1948 died Santa Clara, Caper SSDI (mother's maiden name "Rose") (wife Louise also died Santa Clara, CA 07 Aug 1954, possibly as daughter Margaret Bentley lived there, yet to confirm) per SSDI (mother's maiden name Milligan, father's Secord) (I don't know where he was in 1900 or 1920 yet, although there is a promising 1900 census for Moraine, Grand Forks County, N. Dakota, although the immigration date is off, but I know his brother Hugh was killed by falling off train onto tracks in Dakota, assuming North Dakota. I don't know if James and Louise were divorced. I know they had 2 children, one, Hughina, that died at 7 months old, and the other Margaret b. 1890 Minnesota, that married a ? Bentley and lived in California. Re: the James---I realize I forgot to type in "w" to say "James was a superintendant of the Missouri Pacific Railway, not he lived in James (sometimes I type too fast, I apologize). This I'm afraid is all I have, which was more than last week, after a 4 hour session on a microfilm reader and some generously shared census images. I guess being with the railroad he travelled a bit. Any help or direction is much appreciated. Nancy Caldwell I live close to where he was born in Duntroon, Ontario Stayner, Ontario
