Dear Readers, For the record - The township of White Bear was not organized until 1858, so the name did not appear in the 1850 U.S. Federal Census. There were white settlers in the area as early as the mid-1840s. Felix Peloquin owned 40 acres in Section 25 of White Bear Township in 1880.
