My step-father (Earl Paul Hackert 1915-1976)'s father (Edwin Earl Hackert 1893-1923) was a policeman in St. Paul. He was killed in the line of duty. Edwin's brother (Clinton A. Hackert 1898-1943) was Chief of Police, SPPD. Earl Paul Hackert was also a motorcycle policeman in SPPD.
