    1. Re: [MNRAMSEY] Seeking church for Bohemians in St. Paul
    2. Hi, When I read this wonderful comment about sharing photos with past residents I felt I needed to address the List. I work and volunteer with the Ramsey County Historical Society and we get requests all the time from people researching their home (s). The thing they want the most are photos!! We have the Historic Site Survey collection and a photo collection. There are exterior photos with the Site Surveys and few exterior shots in the photo collection. One of the biggest "bummers" in my job is when I have to tell someone that I can't find something for them, that we only have pictures if someone decided to donate them long ago and if you don't donate them than people in the future won't be able to enjoy them either. :( and that people just never think to donate pictures of their homes, exterior OR interior. Especially interior! Interior shots are rare. So my request is that at some point you please think to donate any extra pictures of your St. Paul OR Ramsey County homes - they could even be your family sitting in the yard at Easter with the house in the background. Or a family shot at Christmas with the fireplace in the background. Or even your whole block. pictures of neighborhoods or buildings. Thanks Mary for supplying us with this way to communicate with everyone and throw our questions and comments out here to share. In 1947 my Mom and 6 kids moved up near St Catherine's College. Married in the Nativity in 47 moved to Calif in 49. Hubby was a year ahead of me at Monroe. We have come back for reunions through the years and to visit family. Our house on Banfil looks better now than it did when we rented it!! My hubby and I are both part Bohemian. Would have been up the block from Goodhue. My maternal grandfather lived at 403 and his sisters-in-law lived at 413, they were midblock. You wouldn't believe the neighborhood now. Neither of those houses look the same and many others have changed also. Was out there taking pics last summer. Got to see the houses inside and out and let them see pics of what houses looked like when my relatives owned them. My paternal grandfather built a house on Goodhue a block toward downtown from Banfil and that is the only one that looks the least bit like it did then.
