Though the first marriages recorded took place in 1850, note that MN did not require any vital records until 1870 -- so there may be gaps in the governmental records before that, and you may have to turn to church records. At this point, MHS does not have these records, though there is talk about acquiring them. We have also published some in the MN Genealogical Journal, #1-7 and 9-11.
