    3. Mary Thanks so much for going that extra step in trying to locate information on Kenneth W. Brandl. I was on that site and overlooked the index. I have now requested documentation from the MNHC to see what the Veterans Grave registration may have. Again I want to say thanks to all of you who have responded and now I know that these list servs really work. This is the beginning, many many thanks Ron and Betty Brandl, Winter Springs, FL. 3. Thanks Kate for your suggestions, I have been trying to contact VA all morning, actually trying to get a real person on the phone, leaving messages didn't help. I'm very persistent, in fact, one response I received said for me to contact my representative or senator, and I will if I need to go that far. Kenneth Brandl's parents are deceased, the remaining family was so young when this happened that they don't recall anything. Last week was the anniversary of his death and my husband's birthday on the same date so I am also trying to help him get the information. Thanks Betty [email protected] wrote: 1. Have you asked Ramsey Co.? Even if they didn't issue a death cert for him they might have other paperwork re bringing him back here. 2. Have you asked the Army where the Death Cert. would have been issued? They could probably tell you the rules re such deaths. 3. I'm no expert, but I'm sure that there are/were reports on his death prepared by the army. There might also be service records, etc., though I know that a fire at the National Archives destroyed many records from about that time period. I traced a relative who died in a plane collision over England in 1943. There was a report prepared on the crash of which I hope to get a copy. By cruising the Internet I found a guy who copies files of reports like this for researchers. I am deferring the expense right now, but his charge was about $25 a few years ago. --my point is that you might find such reports available without going to a major archive. 3. There won't be a death certificate in the Minnesota, since he didn't die in Minnesota. They are issued in the location where someone dies. Is there some specific piece of information that you expect to find on the death certificate, or just some kind of official record? If you are looking for an official record, there may be a burial permit in the records of the cemetery where he is buried. There may be other places to find the data, if you can identify it for us. He is buried at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery in White Bear Lake, Mn. Thank you, I'll attempt to locate some type of burial permit. 3. Thanks , All his military records were burned in the St. Louis Fire. I only received his service certification stating his enlistment date and his service terminated by death and the date. I also tried the VA but the number they gave me to acquire the documents in Mass. when I called they won't release documents to civilians. 3. I am looking for some guidance in obtaining my brother's death certificate. Kenneth Wilford Brandl was born on 09/08/1925 and was killed in Okinawa while serving in the US Army. His death was by accident while working on a plane on 06/29/1945 on base. I was only 4 years old at the time and it was a good year or so before his body was shipped to White Bear Lake, Minn. Where and can I obtain a death certificate on my brother from the State of Minnesota since his death occurred outside of the US. Any suggestions would be appreciated. 3. Hi list: I'm looking for the marriage cert. for Gustave Hans NILSSON and Emma Maria SVENSSON. They were married by a Rev. Svaard at a Swedish Lutheran Church in Sept 1885. I wrote to the Vital Records Ramsey Co., Dept. of Public Health and they said they checked from 1850 to 1892 and found no record. I can't believe if they were married in a church that there was not a record kept. Does anyone know what church this Rev. SVAARD belonged to? I know his daughter went to the First Lutheran Church at 8th and Maria.
