Grand Forks. She was born Jan 21, 1912 on the wagon trek to Canada from Norway. Her family homesteaded near Scout Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada. If anyone has some thoughts on how I could locate a birth certificate? I would certainly appreciate it as I believe that the Church were she was registered at burned down leaving no record. Hi Wayne, Yes, East Grand Forks is in Polk County. The address is: Polk County Court House, Crookston, MN, 56716, or at least that's what it was in 1995! Grand Forks is in Grand Forks County, and am sure you can send it to the County Court House there. You might also try the North Dakota Department of Health, 600 E. Boulevard Avenue, Bismarck, ND, 58505-0200. Have you tried the gen web sites for these counties? They are very good, and will give lots of info about the recording of birthdates, cost of certificates, etc. Good luck, hope you find the birthplace!
