    1. [MNPOLK-L] -CLEMEN- WELTER- MORINVILLE
    2. Hi, List members! I am trying to find info on my family in Polk County AND Red Lake County. I will be making a trip up there in 2 weeks! Susan CLEMEN was born 8 Aug 1867 in Germany. By 29 June 1869, her brother Peter was born in Mazeppa (Wabasha County). Can't find record of him there. Brother Theodore was born 18 Sep 1875 in "Readwing", MN. I can't find him in Red Wing. Family lore says their mother died early, and left them and 2 sisters. Can't find them! Susan married Nicholas WELTER, born in Germany 20 Sept 1858. They lived and are buried in Crookston. Nicholas was naturalized in Crookston, according to a framed document, on DEC 23, 1899. Family lore says 3 brothers came over together. Gottfried Welter is buried sharing a "WELTER" stone with Nicholas. I think Peter is buried in Bemidji. Can't connect them. Anyone got any hints for me or suggestions of where I might "dig"? OK- if I leave my shovel at home? Any tips would be GRATEFULLY followed up on! P.S. I also have family- Louis and Euchariste Turcotte Morinville (with Joseph, Jane, George, Telesphore, and Josephine) and Israel and Elmire LaPlante Gibeau (with Rosalie, twin sister Elmire, Sam and Philip), who went to Terrebonne (Red Lake County) from Pentatangueshene, Ontario, Canada and St. Boniface, Manitoba, Canada. Well, the 2 families BOTH moved from Canada in 1879. It's a really popular thing to do lately, huh? Thanks! Linda (Welter) Matheis Gardnlinda@aol.com
