Her name was Sarah Jane Banks. Her Father was George W. Banks and her mother was Mary (Merry) E. Slafer Banks. We believe he moved to Crookston, Mn Polk County about 1879 from New York. The 1904 Crookston City Directory has him residing at 106 - 2nd Ave. No. working as a carpenter. The 1906 Directory lists him as a grocer and contracter at 1501 Main St. The 1911 Directory lists him as General Merchandise at 1501 Main St. That address was later known as the Irishman Shanty.
