Posted on: Polk County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mn/Polk/365 Surname: Pounds, Shindler, Clay, Anderson, Tanner ------------------------- I am looking for information about my great-grandmother and her children from her second marriage. Her maiden name was Anna Pounds. I have her postcard collection handed down to me and am searching to-and-from locations on the postcards to help me find information. Crookston, Minnesota in Polk County was where one of her daughters must have been living at the time she sent several postcards in 1909. I believe this daughter was from Anna's second marriage. Her name may have been Bess Clay or Bess Tanner. Anna's first marriage was to Frank Pierce Shindler and their only child is my grandmother, Grace Clara Shindler (Robison), born in 1885, probably in Nebraska. Frank died when Grace was only 4 years old and is buried in Edison, Nebraska where the Shindler family migrated to from Pennysylvania. I have been unable to find any records of Anna or Frank in Nebraska. Anna's next husband is believed to be Frank Clay. I have postcards to Anna Clay in Minneapolis, Minnesota where it is believed she ran a boarding home at 11-1/2 North Sixth Street. I have tried to find census lists, city directories for the areas where these people lived to no avail. It appears that Frank Clay may have died around 1909, but I am not sure of that. Anna's third husband was Donald Anderson and they also resided in Minneapolis after 1909. I believe Donald was one of her boarders before they got married. The postcards date from 1906 through 1918. Any information would be appreciated.
