I am looking for information about Peter J. Trygstad, my grandfather's brother. Peter and his wife Martha lived at McIntosh in Polk County for a time around the turn of the century (19th to 20th century that is). Peter and Martha had children Stella Georgianna and James Edmund born in Dodge County, MN in 1892 and 1894. Their next child Walter Trueman was born Aug. 09, 1897. I know he was born in MN, but I do not know where. Peter went to look for gold in Alaska in 1898, returning to MN in 1901. I do not know where his family was during this period, perhaps at McIntosh because I know they were there in 1902. Laila Amanda was born June 06, 1902 in MN, likely at McIntosh. Peter and Martha also had a child Milton or Melton who died young. I do not know in which order he was born, although I have found him listed in family documents between Walter and Laila. Their next child Gladys Irene was born perhaps about 1906 in ND. The family apparently left Polk County between 1902 and 1904 or 05 as at least Peter was at Velva, ND in 1904. In about 1909 or 1910, the family left ND and went on to somewhere in MT. They eventually ended up in Tacoma, WA. Can anyone help me find birth records of Walter, Laila and possibly Milton (Melton?)? Also perhaps there is a death record for Milton or Melton in Polk County. Would there possibly be land records, perhaps homestead records, for Peter in Polk County? Thank you very much.
