BAILEY, 78, died April 20, 2001, in West Seattle, Wash. Mr. Bailey was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Erskine, Minn., to William and Caroline Bailey. Mr. Bailey graduated from Everett High School and served as a decorated combat veteran in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma. After arriving in Alaska in 1965, he earned a master's degree in psychology from the University of Alaska. He retired from the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage in 1979. Mr. Bailey enjoyed traveling and the outdoors. He moved to Seattle in 1999. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; and one grandson. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Baker of Salinas, Calif. and Jeanne O'Donnell of Portland, Texas; sons, Bill Bailey of West Seattle, Wash., Ross Bailey of Bow, Wash., and Daniel Bailey of Bellingham, Wash; sons, Frank and David Hoffman of Anchorage; one brother; three sisters; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinsons Disease Association. Arrangements were by the Solie Funeral Home, Everett, Wash.
