He was born in 1886, and worked for the Norther Pacific Railroad. We understand he was in the Army in WW1. The name is based on the farm named Eldegarden very near Øvre Årdal. That area is in the Sognefjord and is north east of Bergen. We have got a huge family tree on the Ellegård family. Spelling for the name has become either Ellegard or Ellegard.
