I am looking for someone who can do a couple of lookups for me in the Polk County vital records. My grandfather's brother, Peter Trygstad, lived with his family at McIntosh, MN for a time about 1900. Peter and his wife Martha had a daughter, Laila Amanda Trygstad, born June 6, 1902, probably in Polk County. They also had a son Milton or Melton born about this time. Milton (Melton?) apparently died as an infant or as a young child. It is possible that another son, Walter Trueman Trygstad, born Aug. 09, 1897, was born in Polk County as well. Can anyone help me verify that these children were in fact born in Polk County, and perhaps that Milton (Melton?) may have died there as well? Thank You. D. Trygstad

I've been to both. The one you note here is the Old cemetery. The new one is further east. I believe if you follow number 3 past Tillberg Park as per your directions, then turn left (east) on 27 you will come to the new Cross Lake Cemetery on the left (north) side of the road. Number 27 turns into number 44 when you get to Clearwater Co. line. If you get that far you've gone too far.

To get there follow county road 6 from Fosston turn right on county road 3 turn right at the Tilberg Park sign that road goes right past Crosslake Cemetery. I maybe able to stop in there sometime to check but right now the snow is too deep.
