Family tradition says he was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. His birth date was 10 May 1884. He came to America at about age 16, can't find any record at Ellis Island site. Parents are unknown. His brother Peter also emigrated to America, reportedly to Omaha, Nebraska. He also had a sister Clara who remained in Denmark. No birth dates available on the brother or sister. I'm wondering if his middle name Demgard could be a place name in Denmark? He married Rose Marie DENN from Mapleton on 13 Jan 1915 in Mankato, Minnesota. He died 28 Jul 1950 in St. Joseph's Hospital at Mankato. They lived in the St Clair area of Blue Earth county and later farmed in Nicollet county Minnesota.
