Hi All, I just recieved this today from the Minnesota Historical Society Greg Warren WEB FEATURE: MINNESOTA DEATH CERTIFICATES NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE Death certificates are a useful resource for genealogical and family history research. The Minnesota state government became custodian of death records in 1908. 1996 marks the last year that official records were kept on paper. Since 1997, all records have been electronic and part of a fully automated system. To improve access to this popular resource, the Minnesota Historical Society hosts an online index of death certificates. Currently, the database indexes the years from 1908 through 1946. Reprints of uncertified death certificates are available by using an online order form that can be printed and mailed. The cost of each reprint ordered online is $8. Copies can also be obtained by visiting the Minnesota History Center Library and printing copies for 25 cents each. Be sure to visit this exciting new resource at http://people.mnhs.org/dci.
