I have a 1940/41 WHO'S WHO IN MINNESOTA, which is 1400 pages and lists people who were important in their communities, so I checked the volume for you. I didn't find any PEYTON's or PAYTON's in Mower Co. (Which didn't mean they weren't there, just means they didn't hold positions of importance there. William Reynolds Peyton would have been too elderly in 1940 to be listed. I found Peytons in Hennipen Co and in Beltrami County. JUST in the OFF CHANCE they are of some relation, I'll give you the family history listed without going into great detail: 1) John Newton Peyton, born in Duluth in 1885 to Hamilton M Peyton and Martha Newton. 2) William T Peyton, Physician born in Wheaton Minn in 1892. Son of Michael Peyton and Catherine Galliger. 3) Bronson Murray Peyton born in Superior Wisconsin, 1870 to Hamilton Murry Peyton and Martha Newton 4) Hamilton Howe Peyton, born in Duluth in 1877; Son of Hamilton Murray Peyton and Martha Newton. Hope this is some help. I don't know where you live, but you might try going in to the Mower Co. Treasurers office and just searching through their death/ marraige/ births books. They are at least alphabetical. Good luck! Jean Payton wrote: > I am researching the PEYTON Family of Mower County, MN.
