Ole J. Wold and Maria Amble Wold came from Norway around 1865. Along with them came some of their family. They settled in Adams, Minn. Their son Knud Wold became a druggist in Austin,Minn. The drug store is still there but now owned by someone outside the family. Knud and his sons, Walter and Guy worked in the drug store. His daughter, Ethel taught but also worked in the drug store and had a section of books. Walter married Pearl Bascomb Wheat. There first child was stillborn. Deciding that they could not make a living in Austin, Walter and wife Pearl moved to Newcastle, California where Walter continued in the drug store business. On January 4, 1913 my mother, Jeannette Alexine Wold was born (she died January 20, 2001). Later came a son, Edward Culver Wold (he goes by Culver and lives in San Lorenzo, California and has 4 children and 3 grandchildren). After Knud died the drug store was operated by Guy and Ethel. After Guy died the drug store was sold. Walter continued to live in Newcastle, then moved to Oakland and then San Jose while his children Jeannette and Culver went to college.
