    3. Mitch, try using http://www.switchboard.com/ .. I did not see a Sargeant spelling for the area so no male descendants stayed there. The Historical Society is located in Austin, Mower Co. MN. You can contact them for any information they may have on Sargeant. > > Hello, please allow me to introduce myself to the list. 1. Sargeant, MN
    2. Hello, please allow me to introduce myself to the list. My wife, Jenifer, is the Great Great Granddaughter of Harry Nichols Sargeant, for whom Sargeant, MN was named. Harry was born in Stukely, Shefford, Quebec Jun. 19, 1817. He married Ann Stevens Parker on Dec. 22, 1838. Harry died Jan 25, 1884 in Mower Co., MN, at 66 years of age. His body was interred Jan 27, 1884 in Stewartville, Olmsted Co., MN, High Forest Cemetery. Because of the naming of the town I am interested in both information on the family and the town itself. I have a copy of Sargeant's centennial book. I also have a record of him in the 1870 census. What I am looking for is further information on the town of Sargeant or memorabilia - keepsakes that would include the name. For starters, I would like to know who publishes the local phone book there. I would love to get a copy of a phone book with Sargeant, MN on the cover. Other things that might be of interest would be contacting businesses with the name Sargeant in the business name and seeing if I can get a business card or some advertising with Sargeant on it. You see, anything with the name Sargeant on it would be fun to put in the family album and share with other family members. We are expecting our first child in April and I am going to have quite a genealogy of the Sargeant family already completed. I am aware that Sargeant is a small town and I am not aware of any Sargeants still in the area. Any help or suggestions appreciated. Mitch Trier POB 415 Lisle, IL 60532. [email protected]

    1. VANDEGRIFT Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Myrtle VANDEGRIFT taken at the G. S. Hildahl Gallery over Clemmer & Pooler's Store in Austin, Mower County, Minnesota. I'd guess the photograph was taken in 1870's or 1880's and Myrtle appears to be in her teens at the time. I'd like to find Myrtle's family and return the photograph to its rightful place as a cherished family possession, however, to date I haven't been able to located any family members. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
